🌐 About the Industrial Paper Track

The IEEE Cloud Summit 2026 proudly introduces its first-ever Industrial Paper Track, a new initiative designed to spotlight impactful innovations, deployments, and lessons learned from real-world cloud and edge computing systems. This track complements the research program by providing a platform for industry professionals to share visions, practical experiences, challenges, and solutions that are shaping the future of cloud technologies, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world cloud computing innovations. We invite submissions from engineers, architects, developers, and technologists working in industry who have built, deployed, or evaluated cloud systems at scale. Submissions should showcase applied research, production-grade systems, and innovative solutions developed and deployed in industrial settings. The Industrial Track aims to foster meaningful dialogue between academia and industry, inspire future research directions grounded in practical needs, and highlight the challenges, breakthroughs, and impact of cloud technologies in real-world environments.

Note: if you are interested in submitting a presentation, please submit an industry presentation proposal through Sessionize.

🏭 Scope and Topics

Submissions should describe production-grade systems, products, or solutions that address significant challenges in cloud and edge computing. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cloud infrastructure and orchestration

  • Edge and fog computing deployments

  • Serverless and microservices architectures

  • AI/ML systems in cloud environments

  • Observability, reliability, and performance engineering

  • Security and privacy in cloud systems

  • Cloud-native storage and data management

  • Hardware acceleration (e.g., FPGA, CXL) in cloud platforms

  • Sustainability and energy-efficient cloud solutions

  • Lessons learned from large-scale deployments

✅ Submission Guidelines

  • At least one author must be affiliated with industry (non-academic).

  • Submissions are up to 4 pages with original, unpublished work not under review elsewhere.

  • Submissions may describe:

    • Retrospective evaluations and experience of deployed systems

    • Vision on future technology trends and upcoming systems on product or deployment roadmaps

    • Canceled projects with valuable lessons learned

  • Papers may emphasize:

    • Design methodology and architecture

    • Benchmarking and performance analysis

    • Insights from real-world implementation and operations

  • We value impact, technical depth, and practical relevance.

  • Speculative or exploratory projects (e.g., internships) without real deployment context are discouraged.

📄 Format and Review Process

To encourage broader participation from industry professionals, especially those less familiar with academic paper writing, the Industrial Track at IEEE Cloud Summit 2026 introduces a two-stage review process:

📝 Stage 1: Optional Extended Abstract Submission
  • Authors may submit a 1-page extended abstract outlining the key initiative, idea, or system to be presented.

  • The abstract should briefly describe the problem addressed, the solution or system developed, and its relevance or impact in an industrial context.

  • This stage is optional, but highly recommended for authors seeking early feedback before preparing a full submission.

🧠 Stage 2: Reviewer Feedback
  • Submitted extended abstracts will be reviewed by the Industrial Track Program Committee.

  • Reviewers will provide constructive feedback on the proposed initiative, including:

    • Suggestions for improving clarity and focus

    • Recommendations for content to include in the full paper

    • Guidance on aligning with the track’s goals and audience

📄 Stage 3: Full Paper Submission
  • Authors may submit a full paper of up to 4 pages, incorporating feedback from Stage 2 (if applicable).

  • Papers should follow the IEEE double-column format used by the main conference (IEEE double-column template)

  • Submissions will be evaluated based on:

    • Technical quality and clarity

    • Practical relevance and impact

    • Insights and lessons learned from real-world deployments

🗓️ Important Dates

  • Optional Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026

  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: February 27, 2026

  • Final Notification: April 27, 2026

  • Camera Ready Submission: May 17, 2026

  • Author Registration Deadline: May 27, 2026
